No charges are expected to filed against the driver of the pickup truck that did stop to help.
SAN ANTONIO — A man is dead after police say he was hit by a driver in a pickup truck while he was trying to cross a street east of downtown.
It happened around 10:15 p.m. in the 5400 block of Rigsby Avenue near State Highway 87.
According to officers at the scene, the man was crossing the street when he was hit by the driver of a pickup truck.
That driver did stop to render aid to the victim.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. His name has not yet been released pending notification of relatives.
The driver of the pickup truck is not facing any charges.
The crash remains under investigation.
