
Joint Base San Antonio sent a press release saying that Federico Gonzalez, 20, was a member of the 343rd Training Squadron.
SAN ANTONIO — A man who was fatally struck by a truck early Saturday was a Joint Base San Antonio airman, according to the base.
20-year-old Federico Daniel Gonzalez was hit by a truck while trying to cross the 3000 block of NE Loop 410 in San Antonio, according to SAPD. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck did remain on scene but after being evaluated showed signs of intoxication. He was arrested for DWI.
JBSA sent a press release Monday saying that Gonzalez was a member of the 343rd Training Squadron assigned to JBSA-Lackland.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Airman Gonzalez,” said Lt. Col. Robert Chance, commander of the 343rd Training Squadron. “Our thoughts are with his family, friends and fellow service members during this difficult time.”
