ATASCOSA COUNTY, Texas — A man has been arrested after officials say a road-rage incident led to gunfire in Atascosa County.

On Tuesday, deputies responded to FM 476, just west of Poteet, after receiving reports of a road-rage incident where a man fired shots before leaving the scene.

Officials said the victim got hit by the suspect’s vehicle, followed it and then called 911. After following for a “short distance,” the suspect reportedly hit the victim’s vehicle again before firing shots towards the victim.

When deputies arrived they located the suspect, identified as 33-year-old David Clark Preston Jr., and the firearm used in the incident.

Preston was arrested and is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Authorities say no one was struck by the gunfire during the incident.
