An AR-10 found near an elementary school in San Antonio is raising safety concerns despite no evidence of theft or further police action planned, according to SAPD.
SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Police department has opened an investigation into a gun that was found near a southwest-side elementary school.
Around 1 p.m. on Dec. 25, SAPD responded to the 3139 block of Fidelia Drive after a man claimed that he had found an “AR-15” gun on a trail near Spicewood Park Elementary.
Upon arrival, officers were able to secure the weapon and confirm it was an AR-10.
SAPD said after officers checked if the gun was stolen, negative results came back.
No further action is being taken at this time, according to the police report.
