Authorities say a man was located deceased after officers responded to reports of suicidal statements.
SAN ANTONIO — A man was found dead Saturday evening during a welfare check in northeast San Antonio.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 5:45 p.m. to the 15500 block of Nacogdoches Road near Toepperwein Road after receiving reports of a man making suicidal statements.
Officers searched the area with assistance from Park Police and the department’s EAGLE unit.
During that search, officers located the 27-year-old man hanging from a tree. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released additional details. The investigation remains ongoing.
