Authorities have not yet identified the victim.
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police say a 61-year-old man was found dead inside a burning vehicle Tuesday night on the city’s south side.
Officers and firefighters were called to the 400 block of Moursund Boulevard around 7:07 p.m., just north of Loop 410 near East Gillette Boulevard, after reports of a vehicle on fire.
According to police, a neighbor told officers they heard a loud noise coming from a driveway and walked over to investigate. That neighbor found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames and tried to help the man inside get out but was unable to do so.
San Antonio Fire Department crews arrived and extinguished the fire. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fire officials initially said they discovered the body after putting out the flames and were working to determine what caused the fire.
Police have not released the victim’s name. The case remains under investigation, and officials say details could change as more information becomes available.
