Man found lying on the street after hit-and-run accident, BCSO says

A man was sent to the hospital after a hit-and-run on Kitty Hawk Road in Bexar County.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was found lying in the middle of the street after a hit-and-run accident Thursday night, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. 

Authorities said patrol units responded to Kitty Hawk Road and Crestway Road around 8 p.m. for a major crash on the northeast side of the county. 

According to a preliminary report, upon arrival, a man was found lying on the street unresponsive. The victim sustained several injuries and was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. It is unclear what lead up to the collision. 

Authorities said the vehicle that struck the man fled the location. A description of the suspect was not provided. 

According to BCSO, both north and south bound lanes of Kitty Hawk will be closed as crews work to clear the scene.
