SAN ANTONIO — A man was arrested Saturday night after trying to steal a woman’s phone and wallet, which lead to a physical fight involving teenagers near the downtown area, San Antonio police said.
Officers were called to the 1100 block of San Pedro Avenue around 11:20 p.m. for reports of a robbery.
Police said a 19-year-old man was trying to get money from a 40-year-old woman and when she refused, the man tried to take her phone and wallet. The man then started hitting the woman with a closed fist.
According to an incident report, three teenage boys attempted to help the woman when the man started physically assaulting them as well. The man was detained and arrested at the scene.
Police said minor injuries were reported.
The man will face charges of robbery and injury to a child, according to SAPD. This is an ongoing investigation.
