Man holds woman at gunpoint for her car and cash near Oak Park H-E-B, police say

Apparently, when the man pulled the woman out of her car, he could not start it, police said. In response, he demanded cash and pointed his gun at her again.

SAN ANTONIO — A 61-year-old woman was held at gunpoint for her car and cash and now police are asking for help finding the man responsible.

The incident happened on Friday around an apartment complex in the 8000 block of North New Braunfels, near the Oak Park H-E-B.

Police say the man approached the woman as she was getting in her car and pointed a long gun at her, demanding the car and her keys. He then ripped her out of the car to take it, police said. Apparently, when the man pulled the woman out of the car, he was unable to start it. 

The woman ran away and neighbors called police for help. 

The man is described as wearing a black shirt and shorts. Photos from San Antonio Crime Stoppers show a weapon in the man’s hand, which appears to be either a shotgun or a rifle.
