Man hospitalized after accidental self-inflicted gunshot

The 35-year-old man told officers he had just purchased the gun and was in his garage holding it.

SAN ANTONIO — A man accidentally shot himself after he told police he dropped his weapon while holding it.

It happened around 7:12 p.m. Saturday in the 5700 block of Medina Farm on the east side of town.

The 35-year-old man told officers he had just purchased the gun and was in his garage holding it. He accidentally dropped it and it discharged, hitting him. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police will be investigating.
