Man hospitalized after drive-by shooting on East Side, SAPD says

SAN ANTONIO – A group of three people were shot at while sitting by a tree on the city’s East Side, leaving one man hospitalized, according to San Antonio police.

The shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. Monday near Bellinger and Ferris.

Police said the group was sitting outside when a blue sedan with two people inside opened fire.

A man in his 60s was struck in his lower left leg. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police say his injuries were not life-threatening.

Based on shell casings, investigators say the firearm appears to be a small caliber.

No other injuries were reported.
