Man hospitalized after resident discovers him shot in the leg outside northeast-side home, SAPD says

A man was discovered asking for help outside a northeast-side home Wednesday night after he was shot in the leg, according to officials.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are investigating a shooting on the northeast side where investigators said a man was found wounded in a resident’s yard, not far from fort Sam Houston.

SAPD said officers were called to the 100 block of Sabyan Drive around 9:55 p.m. Wednesday night for a reported shooting in progress.

According to investigators, the incident started with a neighbor hearing gunshots, then stepping outside to find a stranger in his yard asking for help.

The male victim was shot in the leg, police said. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition but at last check, he is stable.

Police say the man told officers that he was walking home and felt a gunshot wound and then proceeded to run. He was unable to provide a description of the suspect.

This is still an ongoing investigation.
