Police say a man was critically wounded in a shooting on IH-35 North, and a stray bullet also struck a passing vehicle.
SAN ANTONIO — A man was hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds after a shooting along Interstate 35 early Saturday morning, according to San Antonio police.
Officers were called around 7:09 a.m. to the 4000 block of IH-35 North for a reported shooting in progress.
When officers arrived, they found a 34-year-old man outside the business with multiple gunshot wounds across his body. EMS transported him to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Police said the shooting began after the victim and another man got into a verbal altercation inside the business. Investigators do not yet know what the argument was about.
Authorities said both men exited the building, and that’s when the suspect allegedly fired multiple shots at the victim before fleeing the area.
While officers were still on scene, police received another report nearby involving a stray bullet. Investigators said a vehicle traveling northbound on the access road was struck in the front windshield by a bullet believed to have come from the shooting.
The driver suffered a minor laceration, was treated by EMS, and released at the scene.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
