
Police say a suspect is in custody after a man in his 30s was shot late Sunday morning near Country Village and Broadway.
SAN ANTONIO — A man is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a shooting late Sunday morning just north of downtown San Antonio. Police say a suspect is now in custody.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 11:06 a.m. Sunday to the 8400 block of Country Village near Broadway for reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a man in his mid-30s who had been shot.
Police said there were no witnesses who saw the shooting, but several people in the area reported hearing gunfire.
The victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to officials.
Authorities said officers quickly began searching the area and, with help from Eagle, the department’s helicopter unit, spotted a man fleeing.
Police say officers arrested the suspect without incident. Investigators also recovered the suspect’s bicycle, which police say was used as he fled the area.
Officers are still searching for the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting.
Police have not said what led up to the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing.
