Man hospitalized in high-speed crash from San Antonio to Mathis

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — One person having to be taken to the hospital over the weekend after trying to get away from law enforcement officers.

The high-speed chase started after a car and gun were stolen from the San Antonio area.

Around 5:30 Sunday morning– the driver entered Mathis on I-37 by mile marker 34.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a power pole– catching the car on fire.

Deputies pulled out the unresponsive driver from the car and he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
