Man in critical condition after he was hit by driver who took off, police say

The victim was taken to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

SAN ANTONIO — A man is in critical condition after being hit by a driver who took off afterward, police say.

It happened just before 1 a.m. at the intersection of Culebra Road and Memorial Street on the west side of town.

Police say the victim, a man in his 20s, was crossing the street when a driver in a white Toyota struck him, then took off.

The victim was taken to University Hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

That driver will be facing charges when found.
