SAN ANTONIO — A man is in custody, accused of shooting three people in the head at an apartment on the west side of San Antonio, then taking off with his three other children, police say.
All three of the victims were allegedly connected to the shooter, including his own child.
The alleged shooter, 40-year-old Wilfredo Lopez, has now been arrested and police say the children he took off with are now safe.
This happened on the far west side near Lackland Terrace around 11 p.m. Sunday night.
According to police, Lopez shot the mother of his children, his girlfriend and his oldest son in the head.
All three victims were taken to University Hospital in critical condition. One of the victims, a 22-year-old, was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to police.
The suspect then took off in a pickup truck with his three other children but was caught a short time later.
As for the motive behind Sunday’s shooting, police say it is still under investigation.
Right now, the man is likely facing charges of murder and aggravated assault for the shooting.
