62-year-old Aaron James Declouette has been indicted for the murder of 39-year-old Lisa Sipes. His bond sits at $1,000,000.
SCHERTZ, Texas — A San Antonio man has been indicted for the murder of a 39-year-old woman in 2023, Schertz police say.
On May 26, 2023, police were called to the Palmera Apartments in Schertz to conduct a welfare check on Lisa Sipes, a mother of two. When they arrived, police found Sipes deceased in her unit. Due to the “suspicious nature” of the scene, an investigation was started.

A person of interest was quickly identified. Aaron James Declouette, 62, was arrested on June 28, 2024 on a warrant for tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
On Thursday, more than a year later, the Guadalupe County Attorney’s Office presented this case to a grand jury, who returned an indictment of murder for Declouette along with his initial tampering with or fabricated evidence charge.
On Monday, Declouette was arrested again in Corpus Christi. He was arraigned and is being taken back to the Guadalupe County Jail. His bond has been set at $1,000,000.

Schertz police add that this is still an active investigation, and if you have any information you should call 210-619-1200.
