Police are investigating after a man was shot while sitting in his vehicle during a drive-by shooting late Saturday night on the east side.
SAN ANTONIO — SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating after a man was shot while sitting inside a vehicle late Saturday night on the city’s east side.
According to SAPD, officers were called to a shooting in progress around 11:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Amity Road.
Police say a 47-year-old man told officers he was sitting in his vehicle when an unknown man arrived in a gray Nissan and began firing a gun at him.
The victim was struck in the rear torso but suffered minor, non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated at the scene and was not taken to a hospital.
The suspect fled the area before officers arrived and has not been located.
The case is being investigated as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police say the investigation is active and ongoing and information may change as new details become available.
