Officers say the victim was shot while leaving his neighborhood, and the suspect remains on the run.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was injured in an apparent road rage shooting Monday morning on San Antonio’s southeast side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Officers were called around 8:40 a.m. to the 8500 block of Running Horse near Five Palms Drive for a reported shooting in progress.

Police say a man in his 40s was leaving his home in a black truck when the shooting happened. During the incident, multiple shots were fired, striking the victim in the upper right shoulder.

Authorities say the suspect, believed to be a man between 25 and 30 years old, fled the scene in a white truck.

After being shot, the victim drove a short distance before stopping and asking bystanders for help. EMS crews placed a tourniquet on him at the scene before transporting him to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses are now working with investigators as police continue searching for the suspect.

The investigation remains ongoing.
