
A truck driver in San Antonio struck and killed a pedestrian early Sunday, leading to his arrest for intoxication manslaughter.
SAN ANTONIO — A pedestrian was killed early Sunday morning after being struck by a truck on the south side, according to San Antonio police.
The accident happened around 2 a.m. in the 4900 block of South Flores.
Investigators say a 41-year-old man was crossing the road on foot when he was hit by a white truck traveling at a high rate of speed.
Police say the 21-year-old driver stayed at the scene and called authorities. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers evaluated the driver for driving while intoxicated and determined he was intoxicated at the time of the crash. He was arrested and is being charged with intoxication manslaughter, police say.
