SAN ANTONIO — A man died died after he was hit by a car while riding a scooter on the south side Friday night.
According to San Antonio authorities, 55-year-old Edward Fernandez was traveling the wrong way while trying to cross Zarzamora near Interstate 35 when a Toyota Camry struck him around 9:30 p.m. The Camry’s driver remained on the scene and told officers he didn’t see the scooter, which police say had no lights.
Fernandez was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital. The driver isn’t expected to face charges, police say.
