Further investigation led detectives to discover that the sexual abuse had occurred for more than a year before the man was found in the victim’s room.
SAN ANTONIO — A Bexar County jury has sentenced a man to a 50-year prison sentence after a mother allegedly found him with her “naked” 7-year-old daughter.
On Thursday, Isaac Benavidez was sentenced to 50 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for continuous sex abuse of a child, along with an additional 13 years for a charge of indecency with a child by sexual contact. The sentences will run concurrent.
On July 4, 2018, officers responded to a 911 call where a mother reported that she walked into her 7-year-old daughter’s room to find her naked with Benavidez beside her bed with his pants down.
Further investigation led detectives to discover that the sexual abuse had allegedly occurred for more than a year before Benavidez was found in the victim’s room.
“Children in our communities must be protected, and our office is here to make sure that those who prey on children are held accountable. Today, we hope that the community and the victim feel safer knowing that the defendant is going to prison,” said Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales.
