Man sentenced to life in prison for murdering mother of three

The night of her death, Juarez was reportedly with a previous boyfriend identified as 39-year-old Rogelio Mujica.

SAN ANTONIO — A man has been sentenced to life in prison after he shot and killed a mother of three.

Back in March 2019, police saw a vehicle on the shoulder of Highway 90 near Nogalitos Street and decided to investigate it. Inside, they found a body with several apparent gunshot wounds. The body belonged to 37-year-old Annette Juarez.

The night of her death, Juarez was reportedly with a previous boyfriend identified as 39-year-old Rogelio Mujica. After further investigation, officials said they found bullets in Mujica’s residence that matched the gun used to shoot and kill Juarez.

Before Mujica’s arrest, officials said he had been a fugitive for three years.

Mujica was sentenced to life in prison in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division, by Judge Joel Perez of the 437th District Court. The sentencing took place after he was found guilty in the murder of Annette Juarez.
