Man shot and robbed while trying to give a friend a ride, SAPD says

Police found a man shot after he said a friend called asking for a ride and then took off with the victim’s car.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was shot and robbed while trying to give a friend a ride on the northeast side, according to San Antonio authorities. 

The incident happened just after midnight Saturday on the 13700 block of Lookout Road.

Police said the man had been helping someone he thought was a friend. The victim told investigators he picked up his friend and was behind the wheel when the passenger pulled out a gun.

The suspect demanded the car, and when the man stopped and got out, the suspect shot him and took off with his vehicle. 

The victim was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

The shooter is believed to be in his 20s, but police haven’t released a name. 

Police said they are looking for the suspect and the stolen vehicle.
