Man shot by suspects who were breaking into his vehicle, police say

SAN ANTONIO — A man heard the sounds of his car being broken into, and when he went outside, the suspects shot him, the San Antonio Police Department said.

The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. on Saturday in the 3600 block of Fairmeadows Street on the city’s south side.

Police said the suspects fired shots toward the man, and he was hit in his lower abdomen. The man however pulled out a gun and also fired back, possibly hitting them.

SAPD searched the area but did not find the suspects. The only description provided was that they were in a dark colored sedan.

The victim was taken to a local hospital in serious but stable condition.
