Man shot during attempted robbery in west-side San Antonio, police say

SAPD said the victim drove back to his home and called for help.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was hospitalized late Wednesday after being shot during an attempted robbery on the west side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Police said the shooting happened around 11:05 p.m. in the 3000 block of West Salinas. Investigators said the victim, an adult male, had been visiting a friend at an apartment on Timber View Drive before leaving the area.

According to SAPD, the man was approached by another male armed with a gun who demanded his chain. The suspect then shot the victim twice in the arm, police said.

The victim fled in his vehicle, drove back to his home and called for help. He was transported to University Hospital with non–life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Detectives are continuing to investigate and no suspect information has been released at this time.
