
Officers searched the area for the suspect’s black vehicle but came up empty-handed.
SAN ANTONIO — Gunfire shattered a family gathering on the city’s west side late Saturday night.
It happened just before 9:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Continental Avenue near Benrus Drive.
Police say a man in his 30s was visiting family and enjoying a backyard barbecue when suddenly a suspect pulled up in a black vehicle and opened fire.
The man was hit once but is expected to recover. Thankfully, no one else was hurt.

Investigators are working to track down whoever is responsible.
