San Antonio Police attempted to pull over a vehicle with two occupants at SW 29th Street at W Commerce Street near N General McMullen Drive around 1 a.m. for a traffic stop on the west side of town.
Both occupants fled during the attempted stop, and during the pursuit, one of the occupants pulled out a handgun, according to police. Two SAPD officers fired their service weapons, striking the suspect who pulled the gun.

Both SAPD officers have five years of service on the force. They will both be placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure.
