Man shot, killed during attempted carjacking in north-side Walmart parking lot, SAPD says

The number of suspects involved is currently unknown and police said they have not been able to identify the suspect(s) at this time.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was shot and killed during an attempted carjacking in a Walmart parking lot on the northside, according to police.

Around 3 p.m., officers responded to the 12000 block of Blanco Road after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, police found a 53-year-old man dead on the scene.

Officers said it appears the man was shot during an attempted carjacking and the suspect fled the scene in an unidentified vehicle.

The number of suspects involved is currently unknown and police said they have not been able to identify the suspect(s) at this time.

Several witnesses are cooperating with investigators at the scene.
