Man shot outside gas station on south side, police say

The victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was shot at a gas station on the south side of town early Monday afternoon, according to police.

Officers responded just after 11 a.m. near Goliad Road and Southeast Military Drive to a call for a shooting in progress.

A witness told police they believe a rifle was used in the shooting. The victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries and is in stable condition.

Police were able to match the suspect and the vehicle involved based on a description from a witness. 

That suspect has been detained by police.

Officers have not yet recovered the weapon used.
