Man shot while walking in northwest San Antonio, police say

Police said the 33-year-old victim and his wife told investigators they saw a shadow running near a wooded area immediately after the shooting.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police said a man was shot while he was walking with his wife on the city’s northwest side early Sunday morning.

According to SAPD, officers were called just after 2 a.m. to the 3200 block of Northwestern Drive for reports of a shooting-in-progress.

When officers arrived, they found a 33-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his right shoulder. Police said the man told officers he had been walking with his wife when he suddenly felt the gunshot.

Officials said the couple told investigators they saw a shadow running near a wooded area immediately after the shooting but said they did not know who the suspect was.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

It is still unclear what led up to the shooting. No arrests have been made and the case remains under investigation.

This is a developing story.
