Man slashed in throat by suspect he allegedly caught ‘messing with’ his vehicle, police say

He told officers he heard someone outside of his home messing with his vehicle and went outside and confronted them.

SAN ANTONIO — A man is in critical condition after getting his throat slashed by a suspect he allegedly caught messing with his vehicle outside of his home, police say.

San Antonio Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Wyoming, not far from East Commerce Street, on the east side of town just after 2 a.m. Wednesday morning for reports of a cutting.

According to an officer at the scene, the victim, a man in his 30s, heard a noise outside and went out to investigate. He told officers he saw the suspect “messing with” his vehicle, so he confronted him. The suspect slashed his throat with a knife and then rode away on a bicycle, police say.

Police say they did stop a few people in the area on bikes, but none matched the description provided of the suspect.

The victim was taken to BAMC in critical condition.

This is a developing story.
