SAN ANTONIO — An 18-year-old man was stabbed during an argument with his mother on the city’s northwest side Friday night, according to San Antonio police.
Officers were called around 10:43 p.m. to the 7200 block of Lamb Road for a report of a cutting in progress, SAPD said. When officers arrived, they found the victim with a laceration near his collarbone.
Investigators said the victim and his mother, a 35-year-old woman, had been arguing when she went into the kitchen and retrieved a knife. A witness and the victim tried to disarm her and the victim was stabbed during the struggle, according to police.
Investigators said the woman appeared to be heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was last reported to be in stable condition.
The woman was detained at the scene and later booked on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to SAPD.
This is an ongoing investigation.
