
According to police, a relative of the car owner saw the car burglars and yelled at them, then chased them on foot.
SAN ANTONIO — A man who confronted some would-be car thieves was stabbed in the back by one of them, according to police.
San Antonio Police responded to the 500 block of General McMullen near W Cesar Chavez Blvd on the west side of town around 11: 15 p.m. Thursday for reports of someone trying to break into a car.
When officers arrived, they found a victim in his 50s with a stab wound on his back.
He told officers that he saw a group of juveniles trying to break into a car owned by one of his relatives and confronted them. He yelled at them and then chased them.
When he caught up to the group, a fight broke out and the man was stabbed in the back by one of the juvenile suspects.
They all ran off. The victim was taken to University Hospital in stable condition.
No description was provided of any of the suspects involved.
