Man struck by vehicle, killed on I-35 in New Braunfels, police say

A 38-year-old pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on I-35 in New Braunfels. The driver cooperates with police, with no charges expected.

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — A man has died after being hit by a vehicle along Interstate 35 in New Braunfels, police said.

According to the New Braunfels Police Department, officers and firefighters were called to the 1400 block of IH-35 North around 8:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, for a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Investigators say a vehicle traveling on the frontage road struck a 38-year-old man who was in the roadway.

The pedestrian was taken to Seton Hays Hospital in critical condition. Despite life-saving efforts, police say the man later died from his injuries and was pronounced deceased on Dec. 21.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with the investigation. Police say no charges are anticipated at this time.

The crash remains under investigation by the New Braunfels Police Department Traffic Unit.
