Man suffers life-threatening injuries after shooting in east-side San Antonio, police say

Police said a 49-year-old man was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was rushed to the hospital Friday night after San Antonio police said he was shot on the city’s east side.

According to SAPD, officers responded to the intersection of North New Braunfels Avenue and Nolan Street around 9:17 p.m. after an unknown caller reported that a man had been shot in the abdomen.

Police said the 49-year-old male victim had flagged down the caller and asked them to contact police. When officers arrived, they found the man unresponsive.

The victim was unable to provide any information about a suspect or the circumstances leading up to the shooting, according to officials. 

He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. His current condition is unknown.
