
Authorities arrest Severiano Valdonado in downtown Austin after a days-long manhunt across three Central Texas counties.
AUSTIN, Texas — A man wanted for the murder of a woman in Karnes County is now behind bars after being arrested in downtown Austin.
Investigators say Severiano Valdonado had been on the run for days after going through three Central Texas counties.
Valdonado was considered armed and dangerous and was wanted out of Karnes County by the US Marshals. It is believed he used a 9mm during the alleged crime.
According to the Karnes County Sheriff’s Office, Severiano Valdonado was spotted in Bastrop County last week. He was seen fleeing from a vehicle that was stolen in Karnes County, and deputies say he was given a ride by a Good Samaritan to a homeless shelter in southeast Austin.
Investigators say he was found with a homeless community in Austin early Wednesday morning. At one point, police say the tried to take off from DPS troopers, but they used a stun gun on him and he was arrested.
