
The suspect faces multiple charges in Guadalupe and Bexar counties after a drug operation led to the seizure of cocaine and firearms, officials say.
SCHERTZ, Texas — A man was arrested Thursday following a targeted narcotics operation conducted by the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office in Schertz that led to the seizure of cocaine and firearms, authorities said.
Investigators with the agency’s Special Investigations Bureau Narcotics Unit, working alongside SWAT personnel, carried out the operation March 5 in Schertz in Guadalupe County.
Authorities said the operation resulted in the arrest of Raymundo Ruvalcaba, who is currently being held at the Guadalupe County Adult Detention Center.
Ruvalcaba faces several local charges, including manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1 (4 grams to 200 grams) — cocaine; unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon; theft of a firearm; evading arrest or detention; and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair.
Officials said Ruvalcaba was also booked on active warrants issued out of Bexar County. Those warrants include charges of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1 (4 grams to 200 grams); evading arrest or detention with a vehicle; and a parole violation.
During the investigation and operation, investigators seized about 38.54 grams of cocaine and two firearms. One of the firearms was confirmed to be a stolen handgun, according to the sheriff’s office.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as authorities gather more information.
