
A man was hospitalized after being shot while walking along Royal View Drive on San Antonio’s east side late Saturday night, police said.
SAN ANTONIO — New details have been released after a man was injured in a late-night shooting Saturday on San Antonio’s east side.
Officers were called to the 300 block of Royal View Drive near East Houston Street around 10:14 p.m. for a shooting in progress.
According to San Antonio police, officers arrived to find a 41-year-old man with an apparent gunshot wound to his lower extremity. Officers provided aid until EMS arrived.
Investigators said the man told officers he had been involved in an argument with an unknown individual over a gun. Police said the verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation, during which the suspect shot him.
The suspect fled the area before officers arrived, driving away in a dark-colored sedan. No further suspect information has been released, and no arrests have been made.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Night detectives with SAPD’s Criminal Investigations Division continue to investigate.
