Man wounded in fight over damaged bike, police say

Police say the man’s hand was injured after getting into an altercation with a man who had a gun.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was wounded after police say he got into a fight with another man on the west side about possible damage done to his bicycle.

Police responded to the 6800 block of West Military Drive around 1:30 a.m. for reports of a disturbance involving a weapon.

The 47-year old victim told police that he had gotten into a fight with the suspect about damage that was done to his bicycle at another location.

Police say during the altercation, the suspect showed that he was in possession of a firearm and allegedly fired multiple shots at the victim. 

The victim sustained a non-life-threatening wound to the web of his hand which he believes was from the gunfire, police say. 

No description was provided for the suspect, except that he was in his 20s or 30s.
