Manhunt underway for armed suspect in Kerr County after assault on juvenile

Authorities warn the suspect is armed and dangerous as multiple agencies continue searching.

Authorities across South Texas are searching for multiple dangerous suspects in separate incidents, urging the public to stay alert.

In Kerr County, the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for 44-year-old David Bryan Cox Jr. after an assault late Wednesday night.

Deputies say they responded around 10 p.m. to an RV resort in the 2800 block of Goat Creek Road, where Cox is accused of assaulting a juvenile before fleeing on foot.

Witnesses reported he was armed with at least one firearm, wearing a ballistic vest and a gun belt with multiple magazines. He was last seen in white basketball shorts.

The juvenile was treated by EMS at the scene.

Investigators say Cox has ties to Mountain Home and Harper, Texas, and a warrant has been issued for assault by strangulation. Authorities warn he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Meanwhile, in Atascosa and Karnes counties, law enforcement continues searching for Louis Sanchez III, who is accused of making serious threats against a judge and law enforcement.

Officials say Sanchez has a history of violence, moves frequently and has threatened to kill a district judge and harm officers. He faces charges including terroristic threat and failure to appear for assault causing bodily injury.

Authorities say Sanchez was last believed to be in the Falls City area but could be elsewhere.

In both cases, officials stress the same message: do not approach.

Anyone with information on Cox is urged to call the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office at 830-896-1133, Kerr County Crime Stoppers at 830-896-8477, or 911.

Anyone with information on Sanchez should contact the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office at 830-769-3434, Karnes County Sheriff’s Office at 830-780-3931, or 911.
