SAN ANTONIO — SAPD says a man was robbed of his vehicle early Saturday after a confrontation at a west-side intersection.

The robbery happened around 2:14 a.m. at the intersection of Cupples Road and Highway 90. The 33-year-old victim said he was stopped at the intersection when a dark-colored SUV pulled up behind him. The driver got out, confronted him and the two got into a physical altercation.

The victim told officers the suspect then took out a weapon, got into the victim’s vehicle and drove off.

A witness at the scene told officers the SUV was being driven by a second suspect who followed the stolen vehicle south on Cupples Road, police said.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find either vehicle.

While gathering information, police said the victim began giving statements that contradicted what he initially told officers.

No arrests have been made.
