Masked man targets family with hate-fueled images, racial slurs and dog feces

This family doesn’t know why the man used their home as a billboard for hate, but the vandalism resulted in something they never expected.

SAN ANTONIO — A family living in a northwest-side neighborhood is speaking out after they say they’ve been the target of a disturbing series of vandalism attacks—each one more unsettling than the last.

Eric and Michelle, who asked that their last name not be used, say the incidents began in the early morning hours of Saturday, July 14 at their home off Huntsman Rd. That’s when their Ring camera captured someone smearing dog feces on their doorbell.

“He started targeting our house with putting dog feces on my car. Then a couple nights later, he was throwing dog feces at our house,” Michelle told KENS 5.

But the disturbing acts didn’t stop there. Days later, the couple woke up to find racial slurs and hateful images spray-painted across their garage.

“It feels like our home is under assault to some degree,” Eric said.

Even after they scrubbed the messages off, the masked vandal returned that same night and left another message so offensive it had to be blurred on camera, according to the family.

“We’ve had no altercations with anyone in the neighborhood. The best we can figure is we are a corner house, and everyone who drives by sees it,” said Michelle.

Police reports confirm a string of vandalism cases, with officers responding multiple times between July 14 and July 16. In one case, the words “UR NEXT” were found spray-painted on a neighbor’s driveway, investigators believe the same suspect is behind the repeated vandalism.

Despite the fear and frustration, the family says what happened next caught them completely off guard — in the best way possible.

“We’ve had people we don’t know come by with cookies and say, ‘Are you guys okay? Do you need us to start a fundraiser?’ That’s what this neighborhood is about,” Michelle said.

The couple says while police are still working to track down the suspect — described as a masked man caught on video appearing to film his actions — it’s the response from neighbors that’s brought them hope.

“If we can make a good thing come out of all this — put some positive energy into the world — I would rather do that,” Michelle said.

“Even though we talk about these as different communities, at the end of the day — we’re all one community,” Eric added.

San Antonio police are still gathering clues as they try to identify the suspect.

Officers are urging anyone who lives in the area and has information that could lead to an arrest, to call San Antonio police.

KENS 5 will continue to follow this developing story.
