SAN ANTONIO — Bustling markets, lively parks and music-filled plazas take center stage in a new exhibition at the McNay Art Museum.
“Ferias, Parques y Plazas: A Celebration of Public Space” opens Jan. 8 and runs through April 12, 2026. The exhibition features more than 15 works highlighting how public spaces bring people together through art, culture and everyday life.
Visitors will see pieces by renowned artists like Diego Rivera, Elizabeth Catlett and Howard Cook, alongside work from San Antonio-based artist Adriana M. Garcia, whose art celebrates local heritage and community.
“San Antonio is known for its vibrant public life,” said McNay Director and CEO Matthew McLendon. “This exhibition reflects the energy and creativity that happen when people gather.”
The exhibition is curated by Mia Lopez, the McNay’s curator of Latinx art, and celebrates the joy, connection and creativity found in shared public spaces.
