
A Good Samaritan saved 70-year-old Kyong Cha Ganaha from drowning while authorities were dispatched to the scene.
KILLEEN, Texas — A Central Texas woman is dead following a tragic series of events on Friday.
According to the Killeen Police Department, Kyong Cha Ganaha was driving eastbound on Veterans Memorial Boulevard in a blue SUV when she experienced a medical emergency.
Police say her car crossed over into the westbound lanes and off the road into South Nolan Creek before law enforcement was called to the 900 block of E. Veterans Memorial Boulevard at approximately 4:38 p.m.
Killeen PD says a person nearby saw what happened and rushed to support Ganaha, attempting to keep her head above water until first responders arrived.
The Killeen Fire Department EMS brought Ganaha to Advent Health, where she later died because of her medical condition.
Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson pronounced Ganaha, 70, dead at 5:18 p.m.
