Meet Jack, the goofy pool-loving pup ready for a forever home | Forgotten Friends

Jack already knows his basic commands and walks impressively well on a leash, making him a great buddy for neighborhood strolls or weekend adventures.

CONVERSE, Texas — Our “Forgotten Friends” series showcases a dog or cat each week that has spent a lengthy time at an area shelter, just waiting for someone to notice them and bring them home to love.

If you’re looking for a dog who can make you laugh, keep you company on walks, and happily splash around like it’s summer year-round, Jack might be your perfect match. This week’s Forgotten Friend is waiting for you at the Converse Animal Shelter.

Jack is a 4-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Shelter staff say he’s been here for two years now, and they’re hoping his forever family is just around the corner. He has a broad, blocky smile, floppy ears, and a short white coat sprinkled with adorable freckles.

Jack already knows his basic commands and walks impressively well on a leash, making him a great buddy for neighborhood strolls or weekend adventures.

And while he may have a strong, athletic build, Jack is truly all about fun. His favorite thing to do is toss around his stuffed animals — shelter staff say he loves to “make it snow” with the fluff.

Jack’s also a fan of Pup-Peroni treats, and if you really want to win him over, give him a good scratch… especially on his backside, which might be his favorite spot.

Shelter staff say Jack would do best in a home with kids and a female dog companion. However, he does not get along with cats.

Jack is healthy, current on his vaccinations, and already neutered. Now, he just needs a loving home to call his own.

If you’re ready to add a playful, affectionate goofball to your life, Jack is waiting to meet you at the Converse Animal Shelter.
