A white cat with a knack for retail snuck into an OfficeMax in Kerrville, stayed for five nights, and is now on the hunt for her purr-fect forever home.
KERRVILLE, Texas — It was just another shopping trip, until a white cat casually followed a customer inside an OfficeMax in Kerrville like she had a shopping list of her own.
The not-so-sneaky “cat burglar” made herself comfortable in the warehouse area of the store, where she managed to hang out undetected for five nights. That’s when animal welfare volunteers and store staff teamed up for a full-scale feline investigation.
Live traps and game cameras were set after hours, every corner was checked, and at one point, two pint-sized pups were even recruited to help sniff out clues.
Thanks to the quick thinking, and careful handiwork of the assistant store manager, the cat was safely captured. Even better news: she was microchipped, which helped volunteers track down her owner. Sadly, the owner is no longer able to care for her.
After a full medical evaluation, the friendly feline will head to a foster home while she waits for a forever family, preferably one that doesn’t mind a cat with a love for office supplies.
The rescue effort included help from the City of Kerrville Police Department, dedicated volunteers, and AWS Freeman-Fritts Animal Shelter & Clinic.
If you’re interested in adopting this office-loving kitty, you can reach out to Kerrville Pets Alive by emailing info@kerrvillepetsalive.org.
Looks like this cat’s next job title might be Forever Home Supervisor. 😺
