ARLINGTON, Texas — At AT&T Stadium in Arlington, tailgates were sizzling, the smack talk was loud, and emotions ran high as the Dallas Cowboys hosted the Green Bay Packers.
But this wasn’t just another game; it marked one month since a shocking trade that sent Micah Parsons, the heart of the Cowboys’ defense, to Green Bay.
Chris Greene, a diehard Cowboys and tailgater, summed up the mood best: “I am in a crazy relationship with the Dallas Cowboys… a toxic relationship!”
Greene, like many, is still adjusting to life without Parsons in silver and blue.
“I don’t know why everyone is talking about Parsons… he’s not here no more, so it’s next man up,” he said, glancing at reminders of the linebacker scattered throughout the parking lot.

Geren Odum proudly sported a Packers jersey with Parsons’ name stitched across the back.
“That’s the spark that we needed to go from being a regular team to being one ready to compete for a Super Bowl,” he said.
And he wasn’t alone. A sea of cheeseheads filled the stands, cheering for their newest star. Chants of “Thank you, Jerry” echoed, a nod to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who approved the deal. Some Cowboys fans tried to keep perspective.
A fan dressed as Rowdy, the team’s mascot, offered a bittersweet salute: “We got to pay a little bit of salute to him for what he did over the last few years, but after this, it’s history.”
Still, the emotions cut deep, even inside households. Simon and Chantale Lott were wearing opposing jerseys. “We’re a house divided today, but turn around… we got on that Parsons, so we’re connected,” said Simon.
Parsons may now wear No. 1 in Green Bay, but for many in Arlington, his No. 11 jersey will always hold a special place.
