A Walker cat named after a classic fast food combo was recently crowned in the nationwide contest.
WALKER, Mich. — Zoey Bauer is used to surprised reactions when people meet her cat. With a name like Wendy’s 4 for $4, she gets a lot of laughs and sometimes confusion.
Now Wendy’s 4 for $4 is being nationally recognized for her silly moniker.
Bauer and Wendy, a tortoiseshell tabby, live in Walker. The pair met when Bauer was visiting cats in a pet store—and Wendy climbed right into her arms.
The name ended up being perfect for the “sweet and spicy” cat.
“The Wendy’s 4 for $4 comes with a drink, fries, chicken nuggets and then a burger,” Bauer explained. “A little bit of everything, which is kind of like Wendy, because she’s a mix.”
Despite the iconic name, Bauer said Wendy has lots of other nicknames she’s known by.
“Mostly ‘Wendellton,’ to be honest, or ‘Fo Fo Fo,’ and then just Wendy’s when we’re in a professional setting,” she laughed.

Each year, Nationwide holds a national competition looking for the “wackiest” pet names. Bauer said she didn’t even have to enter—Nationwide just selected their favorite unique names from people with pet insurance policies.
And after a week of nationwide voting, Wendy’s 4 for $4 took home the win.
Bauer and Wendy are now looking forward to a professional photoshoot together, along with a gift card to Purr & Mutt.
As Bauer put it while petting her feline friend, “She made it. She finally got a job.”
The other first-place winners were American Cheese in the dog category and Ferret Bueller in the exotic pets category.
Wendy’s 4 for $4 was also up against tough competition in her category. See the other pets that competed for the titles here.
